Led Signage - Remote Access via Local Area Network

In order to remotely access the QS Super Player, you will need to know the IP of the computer QS Super Player is connected to. You will also need another computer on the same network. You can find the IP of the computer by loading up QS Super Player software and doing the following:

1. Go to Settings > Software Settings

2. Under the Network Settings tab, tick Allow Remote Login.

3. In the box underneath, there will be an IP Address listed. Take note of the IP Address. It will look something like this: 192.168.0.5

4. In the Username and Password, type in the Username and Password a user will need to log into QS Super Player over the network.

5. Once done, click Save and close the window.

On the computer you wish to use to remotely connect to the sign, you will need to load up QS Super Player and do the following:

1. Setup > Remote Login

2. On the right hand side, there will be 4 fields to fill out:

- Name: Enter the location of the sign (or another name as reference)

- IP: Enter the IP Address noted down previously

- User: Enter the Username setup previously

- Password: Enter the Password setup previously

Once you’re done, click Add.

On the left hand side box, find the new settings we added. Click on it and click Connect.

If the connection is accepted, you should be greeted with a screen of the Computer you connected to. You will be able to control the Computer, along with the QS Super Player software through this screen.

Remote Access via the Internet

Instructions and settings will differ depending on the Router on the Network. The following is a brief guide with settings necessary to make QS Super Player™ Accessible over the Internet.

Software/Hardware required to use this guide:

- Router setup for your Network

- QS Super Player Sign and Software setup on one of your Computers

You will need to have QS Super Player™ ready and working in order to access it via the Internet.

Router Setup

Load up QS Super Player software and go to Settings > Software Settings. Then go to the Network Settings tab.

Make sure the Allow Remote Login is ticked and then set a User Name and Password, then hit Save and OK. Take note of the IP Address shown in the box below. In this case, it is 192.168.0.5

If the address is correct, you will be prompted for a User Name and Password. User Name for Routers will generally be admin

Enter the User Name and Password for the Router to login.

After you have logged in, you will need to configure Packet Filtering and Virtual Server (port forwarding).

Make up a new rule for QS Super Player™ and allow port 5150 to be forwarded on to a local computer on the network. In this case, the local computer has an IP Address of 192.168.0.5 and the incoming port is 5150

The IP Address will be different depending on the network so check the IP Address of the computer connected to QS Super Player™ before setting this up.

If you set the protocol of the rule to TCP/UDP, it will create both rules automatically. Make sure the rule is forwarding packets to port 5150.

Now we will need to create a new set of rules for the Virtual Server section of the Router (can also be called Port Forwarding depending on manufacturer).

Go to Virtual Server > Port Mapping and add a rule like above. Internal IP Address should be the same as the IP Address of the Computer setup with QS Super Player™.

In this case, the IP will be 192.168.0.5

Internal and External ports will be 5150

Create a rule for both TCP and UDP.

QS Super Player Setup

Load up QS Super Player and go to Setup > Remote Access

Add a new set of details for the machine QS Super Player is setup on.

Name: Use a name relevant to where the sign is installed. This is for reference only.

IP: Enter the IP Address of the router on the same network as the computer connected to QS Super Player. The IP will look like the following: 203.170.32.5. If you do not know the Router IP, do a search in your browser for 'what is my ip' to find it from one of the websites listed.

User: Enter the User name setup on the computer connected to QS Super Player.

Password: Enter the Password setup on the computer connected to QS Super Player.

Once done, click Add and the set of details will be added to the panel on the left hand side. Click on the set of details you added to the left, and click Connect.

If everything has been setup correctly, you should get a window with a view of the Computer you setup for QS Super Player. This will allow you to remotely control the Computer over the Internet.

Be sure to click Save in the Remote Login window, otherwise changes to details will need to be re-added in.
